Giving Back
In addition to being fully committed to our clients’ welfare and best interest, we are committed to servicing the most vulnerable both in the United States and overseas. Below is a summary of our work in these areas:
Safe Kids Tampa Child Car Seat Program
Each month, Rinaldo Law Group sponsors child car seat installation and inspection at our Tampa office. During the visit, a child passenger safety technician teaches families how to transport children safely, making sure that car seats are installed correctly and that children are buckled up properly. Safety technicians also educate drivers and make sure that everyone in the vehicle is buckled up on every ride.
Safe Kids Tampa is led by St. Joseph Children’s Hospital of Tampa, and implements programs such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, all designed to help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.
In addition, several times per year, Rinaldo Law Group donates child car seats towards families through organizations such as Guiding Star and Mothers of Minors that support families and provide life skills.
St. Michael’s Legal Center For Women And Children
Ms. Rinaldo is the coordinator of the Ask A Lawyer program, and, Attorneys at Rinaldo Law Group volunteer one Monday a month to answer legal questions.
St. Michael’s Legal Center for Women and Children, Inc. (SMLC), is a pro-bono Law Firm providing services to families who cannot afford legal services. These are the families who fall into the gap between just above the poverty line, and a sustainable family income. The “working poor”.
Initially, SMLC assisted women and families in their effort to collect child support. But as the needs of the poor became more evident, SMLC expanded to include family law, foreclosure defense and other property matters, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy.
Renew Haiti! Help Brings Hope
The Rinaldo Law Group has contributed time, talent and treasure to Renew Haiti since its inception over 10 years ago.
Renew Haiti (formerly known as Help Brings Hope to Haiti) is a non- profit 501(c)(3) organization located in Tampa, Florida, bringing hope for a better life to the people of Haiti. Renew Haiti works in partnership with local communities to ensure success through education and long-term sustainability projects.
The organization educates 1,500 students every year through their growing scholarship program. Students take courses of study in the areas of health care, clean water, construction, capacity building and sustainable agriculture.
In 2017, Ms. Rinaldo travelled to Haiti to serve as a missionary for this organization. It was an eye opening experience. Ms. Rinaldo learned that the Haitian people are good, kind and hardworking. However, due to years of political corruption, the country is in dire need of resources to build their infrastructure including electricity, and running water.
Lawyers for Literacy
Attorney Nick Rinaldo meets with third grade students during lunch hour two times a week. The program pairs lawyers with Hillsborough County Schools students and assists students to excel in their statewide reading exams.
Salesian Boys and Girls Club of Tampa
Each year Rinaldo Law Group provides a substantial scholarship to students who would not otherwise be able to attend the salesian summer camp run at the Boys and Girls Club. The Rinaldo Law Group also sponsors Santa’s appearance at the club’s annual Christmas Party.
Academy Prep
In addition to financial donations, Rinaldo Law Group funds and assists in the organization and execution of a monthly birthday cupcake celebration at the Tampa campus. Each month, delicious cupcakes are made from scratch and personally delivered to the students whose birthdays fell in the previous month. The purpose of the program is to acknowledge and celebrate the unique wonder of each student at the Academy.
Academy Prep Centers for Education is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their mission is to inspire and empower students qualifying for need-based scholarships to become future community leaders through a rigorous middle school program coupled with ongoing graduate support.
