What should I do immediately following my Florida car accident?

Transcript

Immediately following your Florida car accident, stop for a moment and make sure that everyone is safe. The next thing you want to do is to call law enforcement. Essentially, you call 911 and they will send out a police officer. If there are injuries, they will send out an ambulance. While you’re waiting for law enforcement to arrive, independently have photographs taken of the damage to the vehicles. Also, exchange information with the driver of the other vehicle and be sure to get the contact information of any witnesses that may be at the scene. The law enforcement officer is supposed to write a report for your crash. They may not be inclined to do so. Do your best to persuade the officer to make a written report of the crash, as this will help you to document and verify when the crash occurred, who caused the crash, and what the injuries were.
